Promoting a Culture of Science through the Study of Pharmacy in Alexandria at AAST

UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo and the Arab Academy of Science, Technology and Maritime Transport

Accordingly, AASTMT continuously cooperates with UNESCO (Regional office in Cairo) to develop Scientific Research in some of the most important fields such as the blue economy and Artificial Intelligence. Blue Economy Research focuses on the sustainable use of resources for growth, which is a strategic Agenda that AASTMT has embraced especially with science being at the core of the sustainability goals. In addition, Artificial Intelligence research takes a special focus in AASTM’s Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence offered in AASTMT Alamein Campus, or through the different fields of study.

The Launch of the “ARAB WOMEN FOR SCIENCE” platform.

Also, the collaboration between UNESCO and the College of Pharmacy at Abukir Campus in Alexandria, includes support for a culture of science in society. This specifically includes a focus on the celebration of the UN International Day for Women and Girls in Science on the 11th of February 2024. The day will witness the launch of the “ARAB WOMEN FOR SCIENCE” platform, which is designed for capacity building of the ecosystem (Read more about the Arab Women For Science Platform). Further to that, AASTMT believes in the future role of Women in laying the foundation of research in the field. Thus, the College of Pharmacy continues to support the UN L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science Programme.

Through those different collaborations and programs, the College of Pharmacy at AASTMT Abukir Campus continues its efforts to bring up a generation of future scientists with high impacts on the field and public policy.

 To educate outstanding pharmacists who are dedicated to improving patient care through innovative practice, research, and leadership. To date, the College offers two majors. Pharma-D Major focuses on drug-oriented courses through the five years. Meanwhile, a Pharma-D Clinical Pharmacy Major focuses on clinical-oriented courses. Further to that, both majors offer a year of training towards to completion of the courses.

For more than 50 years AASTMT has been dedicated to empowering generations.
